My trip to Bangalore

It is a month since I added my musings to my blog....and there is so much I want to say!On the evening of thirteenth august I boarded the no frills Air Deccan flight to Bangalore and the most
interesting part was the fare...I paid an unbelievable two thousand and eight hundred Rupees for the journey from Delhi to Bangalore and back, which is much less than the 3rd AC fare of Rajdhani express . There was also a saving of seventy hours of travel time!

The arial view of Delhi at night is awesome. The sight of the countless lights twinkling on the vast expanse of land always makes a vivid impression on me .The first thing that hit me as I landed was the cool breeze....a pleasant change from the humid heat of Delhi. Bangalore is a lovely city and has much to boast of apart from the weather....but for me it is also the home of my daughter and son in law and the newest addition to my family ...my little granddaughter! I had planned this trip to spend some time with them.

I spent a fortnight with them and enjoyed every moment of it. I enjoyed being with all of them...seeing and sharing their lives..but the star attraction was Suhani-the little one! It was fun watching her grow day by day,her smile and her cries, her play and her sleep. Most of all I loved to see her young parents proudly applaud her for everything she tried to do. It brought back memories of the time when my daughter was as young as this one!

My holiday was over too soon and I was back at the airport for my return flight...early in the morning. The view of the sunrise over the clouded skies of Bangalore is really a treat for the eyes....truly no man made effort can surpass the beauty of nature! There was a group of some marketing people being taken to Delhi for sales promotion...it was their first flight...and it was good to see them excitedly shoot photographs to show to their families and see and feel everything they could. It is good that air travel has now come within the grasp of the common man, thanks to these low cost
carriers.

My Birthday....

Today is the 8th of august and I have completed fifty years of age!For the last couple of weeks I have been waiting in anticipation for this landmark in my life.....wondering what kind of a change I would feel after this day. But this day too dawned as any other day,the sun rising in the east ,the alarm and the call bell ringing to wake me up from my dreams.
It was the same earlier too....as a child waiting for a whole year for each birthday....waiting excitedly for entering my teens......and the great expectation of becoming an adult on my eighteenth b'day !But nothing earth shattering ever happened and life continued as before after the usual wishes and treats.
And so half a century of living is over. It is an awesome feeling ,even though there is no visible change! One significant difference however is that for the first time after getting married neither my husband nor my children are with me. Vipin is away on a project ,nona is married and happily settled with her own family and ashu is away for higher studies. This in itself describes the journey of my life and proves that I have come a long way from where I started.
But despite the absence of these people I have not been alone or lonely.......the presence of my younger sister suju, shyam, swati and googi, my father and the phone calls of all those close to my heart have made me realize how lucky I am to have so many wonderful people around me. People who have shared my joys and my sorrows ...my highs and my lows...my successes and my failures and remained with me in my good times and bad.
I was told that today is a very special day for me . But I think today, as every other b'day has been made special by all of you lovely people who took out time to remember to wish me! Thank You.
